Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara is a famous American actress and singer and songwriter, both of Irish descent. The green-eyed beauty , with her flaming hair was popular for her fiery and passionate roles in several American films. Her attractive appearance and natural beauty were well-received. Her name was renowned in Hollywood as the "Queen of Technicolor". Her character on screen was a reflection of her strong, courageous spirit, fighting for recognition and survival in the male-dominated society. She referred to herself as "the tough Irish woman", and she would not give up her respect for others in order to be able to play the roles she was entitled to by merit. She was a vocal advocate for female actors in film and television, and gained numerous followers because of it. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was released in 2004. It is an honest and honest narrative of her life as well as the challenges she had to face when climbing the ladder of success. She was an adventurous person who wasn't afraid of performing her own stunts. She starred in over 60 films and was a popular international star. Following her departure from Parra and remarried in 1968 with Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a brigadier in the past and chief pilot and a pioneer of transatlantic aviation, to name some of the accomplishments. In the early years of their marriage, O'Hara decided to finally quit her job. Blair however, was killed in a fatal plane crash in 1978. O'Hara's happiness lasted only a few days. In the same year she was diagnosed with suffering from uterine cancer and required to undergo urgent surgery. She was eventually cured. Her health deteriorated throughout her life and she was later diagnosed with heart attacks that caused six, short term memory loss, and diabetes mellitus type 2. On the 24th of October, 2015, O'Hara passed away peacefully in Boise, Idaho, from natural causes at the age of 95.
