Deborah Rhea
Seehorn, born on May 12, 1972, is an American actress. Her most well-known part
is that of Kim Wexler, an attorney in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-2018), where
she has twice been awarded the Satellite Award as Best Supporting Actress for a
series, Miniseries or Television Film. She was also on the NBC series Whitney
(2011–2013) as well as ABC's I'm with Her 2003-2004, and TNT's Franklin
& Bash 2011-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn was born in Norfolk, Virginia,
on May 12 1972. Her mother was the executive assistant for the United States
Navy, while her father was an agent with the Naval Investigative Service; her
family moved often during her early years, including Washington, D.C. and
Arizona in addition to in Japan. At a very young age she was influenced by her
grandparents and grandfather to learn about drawing, painting and architecture.
In her pursuit of the art of the visual, she found an interest in acting. She
was also introduced to modern theatre at the time of her college. In 1994 she
graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio
Art. Seehorn started her college career as an actor and was supported by her
acting instructor. In order to be noticed she was employed in the ancillary
positions in D.C.'s theater industry. While she was eventually able to land
major roles in local theatre productions, and was forced to take on odd jobs in
order to make ends meet but she continued to work in the film industry as an
educational filmmaker. In the next few years, she became involved in more TV
productions. She was often compared to Bea Arthur, whom she described as
"very funny," "sarcastic, and very intelligent" women. But,
the majority of these roles were for short-run series that ended after one or
two seasons. Seehorn was cast in Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff
series. Seehorn plays Kim Wexler, who is an attorney and the lover of Jimmy
McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
