Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, provides the basics of cooking that anybody can learn. Chef Burrell was employed for a time in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine traditions and geography. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled following her graduation with an English diploma and Communications certificate at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had my most memorable time in my life. The Culinary Institute of America was a great opportunity to pursue a degree. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. The time she spent in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to increase the quality of life for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about children's diabetes. She frequently travels around the United States in her position in the capacity of mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne often has mentioned during her career in the kitchen that she feels so fortunate to be able share with others what is truly important to her.
